Monday Motivation: Choosing Praise

Friends

I trust that you had a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. I certainl did! I treasured the opportunity to be in the same room, sharing a fabulous meal, talking and laughing and loving it all. After the isolation of Covid precautions last year, it was a rich, rich blessing to gather together and give thanks. To God be praised!

So on this first Monday of Advent, let’s take a moment to worship the source of all our blessings, the One to whom we owe all our thanks and praise. Let us pause and lift up our hearts in praise to our Great and Glorious God!

+++

Let us Praise Him! Let us lift up His Holy Name with joy and gladness!

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

Psalm 69:30 – NIV

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Psalm 100:4-5 – NIV

Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

Psalm 95:2 – NIV

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 34:8 – NIV

Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Psalm 30:4-5 – NIV

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty— he is the King of glory.

Psalm 24:8-10 – NIV

Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

Psalm 22:3-5 – NIV

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him — his name is the Lord.

Psalm 68:4 – NIV

The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake. Great is the Lord in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name— he is holy.

Psalm 99:1-3 – NIV

How can it be said any better?

We must choose to praise. Praise Him when the sun is shining. Praise Him when the darkness comes. Praise Him when joy abounds. Praise Him when sadness strikes. In all days, in all ways, choose to praise. For we owe Him everything. His love for us never ends. His faithfulness will see us through until we bow down before Him in Glory.

Praise His Holy Name. Amen.

PRAYER

O Lord God Almighty, we praise Your Holy Name. We praise You for Your goodness, for Your faithfulness, for Your unending Grace. We give thanks for our families, our friends, our freedom. We thank You for how You have sheltered and protected us through this difficult time of Covid. Though we suffered devastating trials and heart wrenching losses, You never left our side, weeping and mourning with us. We thank You for the healing You offered and for the vaccines You made possible to help us. We rejoice in Your beautiful creation and its bountiful harvest. We praise You for Your great love for us, though we deserve it not. Forgive us our trespasses, Lord. Create in us a clean heart and a right spirit that we might choose to praise You in all ways for all our days.

In the Faithful Name of Jesus, we give our thanks and praise,

Amen

Thanksgiving Blessings,

Anita
