Monday Motivation: Memorial Day

Friends

On this Memorial Day, may we pause and remember.

+++

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

John 15:13 – NIV

“My Country ‘Tis of Thee,

Sweet land of liberty,

Of thee I sing.

Land where my fathers died.

Land of the pilgrim’s pride,

From every mountainside,

Let freedom ring.”

On this Memorial Day, let us honor the great sacrifices of our forefathers and mothers who risked life and limb to set this country free. They endured the hardships, suffered the losses, and gave their very lives for the cause of liberty.

For their sacrifices, we give thanks.

Let us honor the countless servicemen and women  who  faithfully served our country and paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedoms. We cannot repay them for their sacrifice, but we can honor their memory with grateful hearts.

For their sacrifice, we give thanks.

Let us also honor the families of the fallen. May The Lord comfort and keep them as they mourn their losses and make their way forward.

For their sacrifice, we give thanks.

“Our Father, God to Thee,

Author of liberty,

To thee we sing.

Long may our land be bright

With freedom’s holy light,

Protect us by thy might,

Great God, our King.”

+++

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Galatians 5:13 – NIV

PRAYER

O Lord God Almighty, thank You for the multitude of men and women who have suffered and died in service to our country. We ask for Your comfort and peace for those they left behind. Help them as they soldier on alone. Lord, thank You for our great blessings. May we serve one another in love and peace.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus, we give thanks and praise,

Amen

Blessings,

 Anita
