Monday Motivation: Ready

Friends

It’s been a difficult week for my family, and we are in need of prayer. I know we are not alone in that need. The world around us seems in chaos, and fear is running rampant. But God is still there. He is still on His throne, and we are not alone.

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.

Psalm 9:10 – NIV

Life can change on a dime. A flip of the coin. Heads up. All is well. Another toss, and life flips into a tail spin.

One minute, you are riding down the highway, the roadside bathed in golden sunshine, your face alight with a joyful smile of anticipation. The future looks bright, full of exciting possibilities.

The next minute, the phone rings, and you are headed to the emergency room, your heart pounding with fear, acid eating away at your gut. You didn’t plan on this, never even imagined the possibility.

Life can change on a dime, and somehow, we are never ready for the reality shock. We are stunned, dismayed, and oh, so afraid.

Fear is a liar. It is a weapon used by the Enemy to steal, kill and destroy. Fear makes us doubt that God can work it out.

But He can. God can, and God will work it all out. In this fallen and sinful world, things go wrong. Bad things happen. We suffer. We struggle. We wonder why.

We don’t get to know the answer to our why questions, but we can be assured of God’s Presence and His promises. We are loved by an all powerful, all knowing, ever present God. Our God is with us and for us. He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

Again and again, God’s Word reminds us, “Do not be afraid!” In fact, that admonition is repeated 366 times throughout scripture. 366 times. One reminder for every day, plus an extra for good measure. Obviously, The Lord knows our struggles with fear, and He wants us to fight it with faith.

The question is not whether God will work it out, but whether we will give in to fear and doubt. Friends, it’s time to see things clearly. It’s time to fight our fears and stand on our faith. Are you ready to let go of your fears, and let God work it out?

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 – NIV

PRAYER

O Lord God Almighty, be with us. Help us. See us through our struggles and set things right once more. Help us fight our fears and find our faith. O Lord, please work it all out as only You can do.

In the Powerful Name of Jesus, we pray,

Amen

Blessings,

Anita
