Friends,
It’s Spring in Carolina! The dogwoods are at their peak. The azaleas are in full color. Let us rejoice in God’s creation. Let us give thanks for His great Grace!
BODY & SOUL
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. – Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)
On my walk through my neighborhood this weekend, the sun was shining, the sky a brilliant blue. The coolness of a fresh Spring day enveloped me. The pinks and whites of the dogwood trees were magnificent against the backdrop of that Carolina blue sky. Looking at that splendid scene, my heart overflowed with thanksgiving.
You see, it has been nearly 25 years since I was diagnosed with my degenerative eye disease. On that day long ago, I had no idea how long my vision would last. I recall staring out the window on just such a Spring day and wondering, “How long will I be able to see these gorgeous dogwoods?”
Here I am, 25 years later, still able to enjoy the glory of Spring. That, my friends, is Grace. Oh, I am so grateful for His Grace!
Grateful for His Grace
Grace, God’s Grace,
So grateful for His grace.
Freely given.
More than I deserve.
Nothing I can earn.
More than sufficient.
Enough for each hour.
Redeemed by His power.
All to Him I owe.
Blessed to receive.
Because I believe.
All I need for this day.
Grace, His gift,
No one can take away.
Grace, Grace,
So grateful for His grace.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. – 2 Corinthians 8:9 (NIV)
PRAYER
O Lord God Almighty, we are so grateful for Your Grace. Though we deserve nothing, You bestow blessings. Though we fail to follow You, You offer forgiveness through the gift of the cross. You sent Your Son, Jesus, that we might know the fullness of Your Grace. O Lord, we are so grateful for Your Grace.
In the Holy Name of Jesus, we give thanks and praise,
Amen
Blessings,
Anita
