Mother’s Day

Friends, 

Hoping it was a special Mother’s Day for you and your family! In honor of Mother’s Day, I want to thank all the precious women in my life. I have been so blessed by a loving mother, a precious mother in law, wonderful grandmothers and fabulous aunts. I am surrounded by friends who have been mothers and sisters to me. What a blessing to be loved by you!

I remember…
Five tiny fingers wrapped around mine.
Sweet baby boy nestled in my arms.
Those first wobbly steps across the room.
Clutching his tiny hand as we walked along.
“Watch me, Mommy!” as he hurled himself down the yellow slide.
Butterflies in my stomach on his first day of school.
Cheering at poolside as he jumped off the blocks.
Snuggled up beside him, reading bedtime stories.
Great big grin, truck keys in hand.
Red cap and gown billowing in the breeze.
College move-in day, tears driving away.
Purple cap and gown, “Mom, I’m gonna walk!”
One last hug, waving goodbye.
No longer a boy, but always mine.

Oh, the precious memories of motherhood. Where did the years go? Yet, I am so thankful for each and every year, for the good times and the bad, for the successes and the struggles.

 Jonathan is all grown now, a tall, broad shouldered young man. Still, those beautiful eyes light up when we meet, that great big grin spreads across his handsome bearded face. That bond, that love…it’s always there.

Friends, God’s love for us is always there. It is beyond any love we have known or can imagine. It is all encompassing, never ending, unconditional love. You are his precious child. He watches over you, cheers you on, lifts you up when you fall. You are His creation and He delights in you. Believe it. Receive His love. Let that love bring you joy today.

PRAYER

O Lord, thank you for the special women in our lives, our mothers, mother in laws, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and special friends. These women make our lives rich, mentoring us, supporting us, loving us through the seasons of our lives. Thank you, Lord, for Your love that never fails, that always surrounds us. We are so grateful to be Your children and to know Your unfailing love.
